Hi! I’m Joel, aka Rev. Joel, but no one actually calls me that. It’s just the name I use when I post something on my blogs. It’s also the name I used for my Myspace profile, back when that was a thing. I am a real reverend, ordained in 2000, but I only use the title to occasionally join people in wedlock, and to amuse myself. Anyway, you can call me Joel.

My interests include hanging out with my wife, live music, drinking coffee, eating tacos, watching cartoons, playing with dogs, thinking about the nature of existence, reading Kurt Vonnegut, watching John Carpenter movies, listening to Drug Church and Clutch, and anything that makes me laugh. I don’t write often enough, but I’m working on that. I cook for a living, and I’m good at it, but I don’t like cooking for a living. It’d be pretty neat if I could get paid for writing instead of for cooking, but here we are.
Other than cooking for a living, my dislikes include celebrity culture, religious zealots, and the fascist criminals who are actively working to dismantle democracy in the United States of America. Olives can get fucked, too.
Here are two songs I love, by two bands I love. I write about both bands relatively often. You should listen to both songs and both bands.
Okay, that’s all. 💙
